As part of her role with the University of Southern Queensland, Lynne works with regional Natural Resource Management organisations to ensure that regional planning is informed by the best available climate science and advice. Lynne was previously the Director of the Queensland Climate Change Centre of Excellence (QCCCE). From 2007 to 2012, Lynne led a dedicated team of scientists and modellers bringing together relevant, timely, quality information to inform the policies, programs and initiatives of the Queensland Government. Lynne has been a member of the Australian Chief Scientists’ High Level Coordination Group on Climate Science, managed the South East Queensland Cloud Seeding Research Trial and was an integral member of the team that delivered regional climate projections for Queensland and ClimateQ. Lynne joined the Queensland EPA in 2002 and as the Director for Greenhouse Sciences and Environmental Reporting was responsible for meeting a range of sustainability reporting obligations and environmental performance information needs. Lynne was involved in reviewing the effectiveness of environmental legislation, the preparation of Queensland’s State of the Environment Reports. Her formal qualifications include a Bachelor of Science (with Honours in Chemistry), a Masters of Environmental Management and Postgraduate Certificates in Management and Public Administration. Lynne believes that to be truly effective and to make a real difference we need to think not only about the work that we deliver but how we go about it.
